“This Indigenous piece is inspired by the country in grew up on during the dry season. Canobie is central to my people where 6 sub tribes came together to live on and near the Pimurra river. The land tells stories as old as the time, the land is covered with native flowers and trade routes to journey from one location to another.”

About the Artist
Meet Leah Cummins, a proud Mayi woman from North-Western Queensland, who channels her cultural identity into vibrant art, weaving tales of strength, love for the land, and resilience. Her creations seamlessly blend traditional and contemporary styles, each piece forming a rich tapestry of storytelling that transcends cultural boundaries. With heartfelt dedication, Leah aims to educate and inspire, providing a deeper understanding of First Nations culture through her work.
